Ireland Fashion Show for Suicide Prevention

The 2nd Annual Ireland Fashion Show for Live Out Loud Charity will take place in the Tower Hotel located in Waterford City this Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 7pm to 9:30pm. Jade-louise Donnelly the Irish Ambassador for Live Out Loud Charity and the founder Sherrie Gearheart, will be hosting this fashion show to raise awareness of suicide prevention, core character development, and anti-bullying. Spokespersons at the event will educate the audience on the signs of depression, the steps for suicide intervention, and the resources available for those in need. The show is organized by Rebekah Donnelly who quotes, “After the death of my 13 year old niece, Aaliyah Sutherland, I knew I had to do something to help prevent suicide. I am proud to be associated with LOLC as we work together to save lives.” Local media, community members, and school officials are invited to attend the benefit. Tickets are available online through eventbrite and at the door. The fashion show is sponsored in part by the Rebekah Donnelly of Play Together Childcare, SuirDzign, Four Star Pizza, Party World, North/South Model Management, Robbie Kelly Photography, and John Hourigan Designs.

Local Irish designers and boutiques will include: Claire Garvey, Georgina Tshuma, The Curvy Girl, Lumy by Paris, Mothercare, Elle’s Belles Boutique, Elaine Honey Designs, Niamh Finn Creative, Bennetton,  IXLondon, JOW Fashion, House of Maiya, and Emily Nayhree.There will be butlered hors’deavors, red carpet interviews, and the suicide prevention speakers will include the first Irish Ambassador Emma Gavin and Jade-louise Donnolly. Intentional designer JOW by Angelle Change, will showcase her collection from The Netherlands. Models of all demographics will be represented: child, teen, adult, plus sized, all ethnicities, and body types. “Our models are real people affected by suicide, depression, bullying, and low self-esteem. We orchestrate these events to educate the public because suicide is preventable. Each person that walks our runway is empowered by our training and the incredible experiences they gain at LOLC events. Live out Loud Charity is a major support system for individuals needing a positive outlet to rebuild their confidence,” states founder Sherrie Gearheart. Live Out Loud Charity (LOLC) has had a grassroots movement in Ireland for the past three years. LOLC is a Chicago based non-profit organization founded in 2010. LOLC’s mission is to save lives through awareness and education. The organization has reached millions of people worldwide through television, radio, magazines, school tours, awareness events, and newspapers. The non-profit trains volunteers as spokespersons and ambassadors in the QPR Institute’s suicide intervention program, its Core Character Development workshops, and the STAR anti-bullying presentations. LOLC has successfully trained over 100 representatives across the United States as well as internationally in Ireland, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, Jamaica, Liberia, Canada, and France.
