1st Annual Wisconsin Live Out Loud Charity Bake Sale
“Rise Above Bullying, Feed with Positivity”
Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners, Wisconsin on December 17th, 2016 from 12pm-3pm. Nancy Steinle, Mrs.Worldwide Wisconsin Ambassador, is holding a Bake Sale to bring passion and knowledge to her local community. Steinle will be speaking on the issues of bullying and suicide. Informational packets will be handed out to the public at the bake sale to educate people on the signs of bullying, depression, and available resources for help.
During this event Nancy Steinle, the newly crowned Mrs. Worldwide Wisconsin Ambassador, of Live Out Loud Charity (LOLC), will speak to her local community about the issues facing Wisconsin youth and the overall impact bullying has on self-esteem. Steinle will share the steps to overcome a bullying situation and how to stop this epidemic from growing within Wisconsin. According to Fox 6 News, “1 in 7 students reported being bullied in 2013.” Bullying is a major cause of suicide. Fox 6 News also states that for “every kid who dies by suicide, eleven others attempt.”
Live Out Loud Charity hopes to spread its message to Wisconsin youth and adults; there are people who care along with resources available to help. “I want youth in our community to know there are places they can go for help without judgement and that there is light at the end of the tunnel,” states Nancy Steinle. She plans to conquer the issue of bullying and suicide by completing a school tour in Wisconsin with founder of LOLC Sherrie Gearheart. They will share the LOLC program, Core Character Development which aims to build self-esteem, focuses on anti-bullying, and encourages character growth. Steinle and Gearheart will also share the steps for a bullying intervention and how to save a life during a suicide intervention. The Wisconsin school tour is planned to take place during the spring of 2017. 100% of the proceeds raised during our December 17th bake sale will go toward the anti bullying initiatives. Live Out Loud Charity urges Wisconsin schools, after school programs, youth groups, churches, and businesses to get involved and to invite their trained Ambassadors to speak.
